Our school's volunteer team recently visited the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Yuen Wah Elderly Neighbourhood Centre to create mosaic coasters with the elderly in the community. The students had practiced and prepared for this task beforehand, in order to be able to successfully teach the elderly to complete their masterpiece.
The students prepared various colored mosaic tiles, glue, sponges, and coaster bases. They explained the fundamentals of mosaic art to the elderly and shared some creative techniques and inspirations. Throughout the activity, we witnessed the birth of many beautiful coaster artworks. Each person demonstrated their own creativity and imagination by piecing together unique patterns and images using the mosaic tiles.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Fong Yuen Wah Elderly Neighbourhood Centre for providing the venue, allowing the students and the elderly to participate and learn from each other in an interactive and enjoyable environment.
