Winning the merit in a STEAM competition

Date: 05/03/2021

5 of our P3 students, Ashley Ho, Janelle Kwan, Ashbur Ngo, Carlos Sin and Suki Wong, participated in a STEAM competition, Solve for Tomorrow, organised by Samsung. They defeated 230 schools from all around HK to win the merit prize.

Their idea encourages a tech-forward approach in adopting a green lifestyle. First, users can search the location of the nearest recycling bins in Google Map, it will also show the users how to get there. Second, take a photo of the rubbish. The AI system will identify it and tell the users visually and verbally of which recycling bins he should put it into. These ideas solve the current recycling problems we are facing.

The robot will start serving our school. We hope to motivate our students to apply what they have learnt in STEAM class to make our lives better.

Congrats to the Team!
